Bed Time:
Caffeine-free Detox tea
Substitutions:
Eat fresh vegetable soup in place of vegetable juice.
Experiment with vegetable juice throughout the day. Just make sure you are not adding too many fruits, because they increase sugar and acidity. It will also cause you to feel hungry sooner.
Helpful Hints:
1. It’s ok to eat raw veggies throughout the day if hungry.
2. A handful of raw almonds or walnuts are also ok to snack on.
3. A vegetable juice can be replaced with a homemade vegetable soup.
4. If you choose a smoothie make sure to use a blender.
Suggestion: ½ leafy green vegetable of choice, fruit of choice, 1-2 bananas or avocado (makes it creamy), ginger, lemon or parsley to increase taste. You will need at least 60% vegetable and no more than 40% fruit.
5. Take 3 detox baths for at least 20 minutes each during the 10 days. (see previous FB post for detox bath instructions)
6. Drink at least 4, 16 oz glasses of water each day.
Suggestion: fill up a big mug or cup and keep it with you throughout the day. Drink through a straw while driving.
7. Exercise by walking 30 minutes a day.
Suggestion: don’t park in the closest spot to the store/office/school.
Take the stairs instead of the elevator.
Dance around with your kids or actively play with them.
